The National Monuments Service's description
This cross-slab (L 0.56m; Wth 0.15-0.19m; T 0.07-0.08m) was found in 1991 on the seashore in the townland of Laheratanvally, c. 8km W of Skibbereen and is now in Cork Public Museum. The following description is based on an account of it published by E. Shee Twohig (1992, 120-23). The slab is decorated on one face with a linear ringed Latin cross. The ring is penannular, the terminals turning outwards to finish the circle. In each quadrant formed by the arms of the cross there is a small circle; that on the top right is very weathered. On each side of the stem are two short lines forming a V, the point towards the sides of the stone. The original location (CO140-079----) of the cross-slab is unknown.
