The National Monuments Service's description

In tillage, on a natural rise, on a break in a S-facing slope. An oval spread (min. dims. c. 22m N-S; c. 16m E-W) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil. A waterlogged area adjacent to a field boundary, c. 26m to the N of the centre of the spread may indicate the existence of a spring well. Another possible burnt mound (CO074-131----) lies c. 160m to the SW.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
