The National Monuments Service's description
On S side of Douglas estuary; no visible surface trace of 'Ronayn's Court', site now occupied by garage. Stone wall and coach house to rear of garage, 19th century in appearance. Described by Windele in early 19th century as of 'quaint, antiquated appearance....but modern improvement has destroyed all this' (Coleman 1912, 106-7). Inscribed fireplace, with date 1627, from site is now in Blackrock Castle (CO074-052---) (Healy 1988, 150; see ill. JCHAS 1912, opp. 81).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
