The National Monuments Service's description
Site of medieval parish church of Holy Trinity; listed among possessions of diocese of Cork in decretal letter of 1199; little known of its medieval appearance (Bradley et al. 1985, 57-65). Hardiman's map (c. 1601) depicts large structure consisting of nave with N and S aisles and square tower at W end; this was demolished 1717 and present church built in 1720. Nothing remains of pre-1700 fabric with possible exception of parts of crypt. Crypt contains one 13th century civilian effigy, possibly male but now missing its head, cut in high relief on coffin-shaped slab; and several 15th, 16thand 17th century monuments. Now used to house Cork Archives Institute. Remains of graveyard (CO074-03408-) to E.
