The National Monuments Service's description

Late 18th century 3-storey house, close to N bank of river Lee. Entrance front (N) of 5 bays, with central 1-bay breakfront. Central roundheaded door with fanlight flanked by sidelights; Venetian and Diocletian windows at 1st and 2nd floor levels. Front and breakfront framed by limestone quoins. Rear elevation very similar to front with central fanlighted door, weatherslating added. Hipped roof with two off-centre chimneys. Low, 1-storey wings on either side; half-hipped roof. Symmetrical stable blocks with decorative details to NW. Architectural style of house suggests that it could be designed by Davis Duckart or a disciple (pers. comm. R. Wood). Inscribed stone plaque over door reads 'CW 1785'; Christopher Waggett was a Cork merchant and the last of his family died here in 1840s. House occupied until recently, demolished April 1991.
