This tower is referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 3 Mid-Cork' (1997, 414) under the entry (no. 9646) for a country house (CO072-018----). It is mentioned in the entry as follows: 'In wood, to S of house, square tower of roughly same date as house.' This is a post-1700 AD monument and as such does not come under the remit of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI).
