The National Monuments Service's description

On S side of road, built into natural slope; overgrown roughly rectangular kiln (4m E-W; 5.4m N-S; front H 3.7m; rear H 1.5m); W wall bulges outwards. Front elevation (N) has lintelled recess (H 1.7m; Wth 1.5; D 1.9m) with sloping slabs to rear. Partially infilled funnel (diam. 1.8m). Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map.
