The National Monuments Service's description

Built against rock outcrop; very overgrown and partially collapsed rectangular kiln with rounded corners (c. 4.6m N-S; c. 4.2m E-W). Front elevation (E) has lintelled passage (H 0.4m; Wth 0.5m; D 1.2m) at base on N leading into funnel (3m N-S; 2.2m E-W). Passage is off-centre to N; Send of front elevation collapsed and overgrown. Stone-lined funnel (3m N-S;2.2m E-W), partially infilled. Forecourt area (3.2m N-S; 2.2m E-W),enclosed by stone revetting on N and S sides. Not typical of mid Cork kilns but resembles some examples along coast of West Cork (See Cooldurragha 3440). Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map.
