The National Monuments Service's description

A thin spread (min. dims. 6m x 6m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil was discovered during the monitoring of groundworks in advance of the construction of the N25 Youghal Bypass and was partially excavated in 2001. An unlined circular trough was found beneath the spread. It and the spread had been cut by a modern N-S field drain. A carbon sample recovered from the fill of the trough produced a radiocarbon date of cal. BC 1120-910. The monument extends to the E and W beyond the excavated area. (Noonan 2003d, 53)

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
