The National Monuments Service's description
In a graveyard (CO067-003001-) and adjacent to the N side of North Abbey (CO067-003002-) in Youghal. The exact location of this monument is unknown. There are no visible remains of the church which is represented as an L-shaped building and named 'Chapel' on a map dated 1776 (Scalé). The general area of the church is overlain by modern burials. Grose (1791-7, 32) noted that a 'Romanish Chapel adjoined the enclosure of North Abbey.' The 'one large Masshouse' recorded outside the town wall in 1731 (Hurley 1893, 52) may also refer to this site. Zajac et al. (1995, 94) note that a curve in the present E boundary wall of the graveyard may inidcate the location of the church. (Zajac et al. 1995, 94.)
