The National Monuments Service's description
On top of a scarped knoll, in demesne of Leamlara House; heavily overgrown remains of rectangular tower (11.3m E-W; 7.4m N-S) surviving to max. H 2m. Surviving features include: rounded corners; W jamb of door near E end of S wall; lower steps of straight mural stair in E wall rising from SE corner; W ingoing of window in N wall and splayed S ingoing of window or loop in W wall; garderobe chute exit near S end of W wall; and small wall press at Send of W wall (interior). 1935 OS 6-inch map marks site of 'Castle Moat' immediately N of ruins; no visible remains of such a feature though site listed as 'possible motte' by Glasscock (1975, 105).
