The National Monuments Service's description
In tillage. Indicated as dotted line enclosing circular area (diam. c. 40m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; depicted as hachured arc (N->S) on 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Bank survives as low rise enclosing circular area. According to Hartnett (1939, 220) 'section of almost erased rampart' remained to E, 'practically level with field' to W, giving diameter of 132ft.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
