The National Monuments Service's description
Marked 'Gallaun Garrycloyne' by Munster Archaeological Survey on 1904 OS 6-inch map (UCC). Condon (1916, 73) described stone (H 2ft 9ins; Wth 27ins; T 41ins) in field on opposite side of road to Garrycloyne Castle; 'The stone overlooks a rivulet'. This description locates stone further SE along road than Munster Archaeological Survey location. No surface trace of stone in either location.
