The National Monuments Service's description
Discovered in the NW quadrant of a ringfort (CO055-007001-). According to Barry (1890, 518) the stone was 'found loose in the cave' (souterrain CO055-007003-) where fourteen other ogham stones were found (CO055-007005-; CO055-007006-; CO055-007007-;CO055-007008-; CO055-007009-; CO055-007010-; CO055-007011-; CO055-007012-;CO055-007013-; CO055-007014-; CO055-007015-; CO055-007016-; CO055-007017-; CO055-007018-). Sandstone (H 1.03; 0.28m x 0.16m); read by Macalister (1945, 85, No. 82) as MAILAGURO MAQ[I...]VILEB[... and O'Kelly (1945, 152) as MAILAGURO MAQ[I...]LIL... . This stone was retained by the farmer when 13 others were removed to UCC (12) and Lismore Castle (CO055-007013-) in the early 20th century (Power 1932, 11). However, according to Macalister (1945, 85, No. 82), who returned to examine the stone before 1945, the farm was deserted and there was no trace of the stone. (Power et al. 1994, no. 4215)
