The National Monuments Service's description
Discovered in 2002 and subsequently excavated in 2003 in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass. Excavation revealed an isolated circular pit (diam. 0.42m; D 0.23m) with heavily oxidised sides which was interpreted as a refuse pit (Murphy 2006l, 38). The fill of this pit contained flecks of charcoal which were radiocarbon dated to 1500-1130 cal. BC (Murphy 2006l, 38). (Murphy 2006f, 77; 2006l)
