The National Monuments Service's description
Large sub-circular enclosure (diam. c. 70m N-S; c. 60m E-W) marked on 1935 OS 6-inch map; now largely destroyed by erection of farm buildings; no visible trace of church. According to Power (1923, 173), site of 'Cill Atha Muirín (Church of Muirin's Ford)....a circular enclosure half an acre or so in area, within which are distinctly traceable the foundations of a primative church, 27 feet by 15 feet. To south of this last are a bullán and some traces of other buildings'; no visible trace of either bullán or other structure.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
