The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on NW-facing slope c. 200m W of stream; view over valley to SW and N. Roughly circular raised area (32m N-S; 35m E-W) defined by scarp (H 3m), topped by low lip (H 0.3m) S->WSW, low bank (H 0.6m) WSW->WNW, overgrown to E; possible indications of fosse to S. Terrace (Wth 3m; 1.3m below top bank) along external face platform W->NW. To NE, sunken ramp-like feature (Wth 3.3m) leads from interior into field below; much interference around this area probably, due to quarrying (Power 1918, 189), and unclear whether this feature is original.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
