The National Monuments Service's description
In rough hill grazing, on a slight break in a WSW-facing hillslope. The remains of a roughly circular hut site (diam. 2.6m) defined by a jumbled drystone wall (max. T 1.4m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.45m) with a square-shaped area (1.1m N-S; 1m E-W) which projects to the W. Many of the stones are set at right angles to the line of the wall of the hut site and some are leaning. The interior of the hut site slopes gently down to the W. The hut site is sheltered at the S by a ridge of higher ground. The remains of a roughly oval annexe (8m N-S x 6m E-W) abuts the hut site to the N. The annexe is defined on its W side by a line of upright stones which extend to the N from the NW corner of the hut and on the N by a slightly curving arc of upright stones. A scatter of stones along the hillslope faintly define the E side of the annexe. There is an entrance (Wth 0.6m) at the centre of the W wall. A relict field boundary (CO048-186----) lies c. 17m to the SE.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
