The National Monuments Service's description
According to Broker (1937, 146) there was an 'old cill' in Denis Buckley's land, c. 150 yds from a fort called Cathair Bhan (possibly 8821). Exact location not known; no local knowledge of ancient church in this area.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
