The National Monuments Service's description
Not shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map. On lower NW slope of Musheramore Mountain; second well (9285) near summit. Well modernised in 1982 and stations of the cross erected on N side. Now enclosed in stone and concrete facade with concrete steps leading up to front. Recess over well holds statue of St John and petitions from pilgrims; coins in well. According to Broker (1937, 35), 'two holy wells in commonage of Muisire Mountain - one at top (for cattle) and one at foot (for christians). Rounds are made at them on St. John's Day- 24th June....five or six hundred come to the foothill well....Both wells are called Tobairín na bhFaithni, warts being cured by washing in them'.
