The National Monuments Service's description
In ringfort (CO041-024---). According to Bowman (1934, 542), 'it is said that a souterrain was here'. No visible surface trace. 'Souterrains' also referred to by Bowman (ibid.) as being built into the fosse side of the inner rampart probably refer to two lime kilns on the site.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
