The National Monuments Service's description
One of two standing stones (9885) recorded by Bowman (1934, 567) in this townland; 'In Ellen McCarthy's, 5ft 3in by 3ft 10in by 1ft 11in. Workmen tried to remove this, when building a bridge over the Lyre River nearby. They desisted, however, owing to the superstition of one of the men'. Exact location not known.
