The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on E side of Ivale River, above sharp fall of ground down to river. Circular area (33.5m E-W; 32m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H0.75m) SE->NNW; scarp (H 2.25m) elsewhere; external fosse (D 1.5m); outer bank survives S->NNW. Inner bank planted with trees; stone-faced internally in parts; low to W for c. 6m. Outer bank best preserved W->NNW, uses natural fall of ground externally. Causewayed entrance (Wth 2.9m) to N. Interior covered in ferns with small clump of trees in NW quadrant; possible souterrain (9007) at centre. Limekiln marked on 1842 OS 6-inch map at NE edge of interior.
