The National Monuments Service's description

Bowman (1934, 317) recorded a souterrain 'at foot of mountain in Mr Pomeroy's land, c. 300 yards, S.W. of fort [CO039-05301-] in Claraghmore. This is now closed, but could easily be opened'. Exact location not known.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
