The National Monuments Service's description
On E side of road. Indicated as rectangular structure (long axis NE-SW) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Front elevation (NE) has arched recess (H 1.82m; Wth 2.47m); lower inner arch towards rear. Ledge above recess arch on front elevation provided support for lean-to. Second ledge near base. Stone-lined funnel (diam. 1.6m). Ramp (L c. 13m) to SW with retaining stone wall along roadside.
