The National Monuments Service's description

In marshy ground, to S of well and on E side of stream. Roughly kidney-shaped mound of burnt material (L 12m; Wth 3m; H c. 1.2m). Two fulachta fiadh close by, c. 20m to SE (CO039-11702-) and c. 60m to SE (CO039-11703-).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
