The National Monuments Service's description
In roughly level plateau on E side of Claragh Mountain. Linear field system clearly visible in aerial photgraph (CASAP) between circular enclosure (9148) to NW and deserted farmhouse to SE. Fences run in N-S and E-W direction; one running to N and S of townland boundary appears to predateit; double fence, possible old laneway, at W side of complex, runs in N-S direction for c. 130m. Area strewn with rocks and overgrown with ferns, gorse and heather. Fences not identifiable on ground due to overgrowth.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
