The National Monuments Service's description
On E side of road, within early ecclesiastical site (13905). Rectangular graveyard (c. 95m E-W; c. 35m N-S); once contained parish church of Nohavaldaly (14447). The 1842 OS 6-inch map shows graveyard confined to E half of present area, but 1904 OS 6-inch map shows it extended W to meet road; map also shows extension of graveyard to N, this was defined by area with 'its surface being more irregular than any other portion of the same field' (Walsh 1987a, 145). Rounds were paid in the graveyard on 11th-12th December, taking in three priest's graves and tomb, said to incorporate altar-stone of early church; rounds moved on to holy well (14028) c. 1 mile to N, on 13th December, St Finian's day (Bowman 1934, 664). Site of round tower (13907) c. 55m to N.
