The National Monuments Service's description
Two pits were excavated in 2005 in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass. The larger of the pits (2.85m x 1.68m; D 0.4m) contained three sandy clay fills, the uppermost of which included 12 sherds of Neolithic pottery, identified as the remains of three globular bowls, as well as two fragments of flint. The smaller pit (0.5m x 0.44m; D 0.12m) was discovered 4m to the W. There is a fulacht fia (CO035-144----) c. 30m to the N. (O'Reilly 2006)
