The National Monuments Service's description
A pit was exposed during archaeological testing in 2002 in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass in 2002. Subsequent excavation revealed that the pit contained Beaker pottery, a flint scraper and flint debitage. Radiocarbon samples from this pit returned dates of 2490-2190 cal. BC and 2170-2150 cal. BC (pers. comm. T. O'Neill). Two small spreads, possibly associated with the pit, were also excavated. (O'Neill 2006e, 65)
