The National Monuments Service's description
A mound (9.1m N-S; 6m E-W; D 0.35m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil was discovered during topsoil stripping in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass and was excavated in 2003. It was located c. 120m E of the Shanowennadrimina Stream. It overlay a subrectangular unlined trough (1.7m N-S; 1.2m E-W; D 0.3m). A burnt mound (CO035-128----) was found 2.5m to the N. (O'Connell 2006g, 56)
