The National Monuments Service's description
'According to Brunicardi (1985, 1), 'the monastery ford', a crossing of the River Blackwater at the W side of Fermoy, 'was guarded by a strong point or dún, built on a mound or rath' and now occupies by Mountford House. On top of a ridge overlooking River Blackwater; no visible surface trace (Zajac et al. 1995, 40).
