The National Monuments Service's description

Pattern of rectilinear cropmarks, some perpendicular to each other, visible in aerial photographs (CASAP, July 1989). Cropmarks indicate relict field system covering area of c. 30ha. The large field in which most of the cropmarks occur is shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map and was probably associated with Renny estate. Possible circular enclosure (CO034-07602-) and fulacht fiadh (CO034-07603-) within field system. Disused Mallow to Fermoy railway line also noted as cropmark traversing field system.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
