The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on gentle SW-facing slope. Sharp fall of ground immediately outside enclosure to WNW forms natural defence on this side. Depicted as hachured roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map, at junction of four fields; arc S->N indicated on 1905 OS 6-inch map, remainder respected or replaced by field fences. Circular area (31m N-S; 31.5m E-W) defined by scarp for short sections to N, E, SE and from S->W. Arc S->W visible as cropmark of bank and external fosse in aerial photograph (CASAP).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
