The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, c. 40m N of Spa House (14789). Warm spring forming small pond, with stream flowing from NW side. Not in holy use. Known locally as "spa well". According to Brück (1987, 45-8), largest of Mallow warm spring group 'being 13.6m in diameter and several metres deep in centre'. Recent improvements to house and grounds have included stone revetting of pond (Zajac et al. 1995, 77).
