In pasture, on brow of hill, with ground sloping down to N and W. Depicted as hachured oval enclosure (c. 30m N-S; c. 20m E-W) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; low, subcircular, saucer-shaped platform (30m N-S; 24m E-W) survives. Described by Bowman (1934, 672) as single-ramparted, oval shaped fort (c. 45m x c. 28m) on John McCarthy's land. Roughly circular enclosure visible in aerial photograph (GSIAP, W409) as cropmark of fosse.
