The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, near top of ridge on N-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps; outer portion of defences levelled to E on 1842 OS 6-inch map; completely levelled to E on 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; arc formed by fosse survives NW->NE respected on N side by heavily overgrown field boundary. Circular enclosure visible as cropmark of bank, intervening fosse and outer bank in aerial photograph (CASAP); probably indicates that remaining field boundary to N respecting fosse may incorporate remains of outer bank. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 212-3) as raised saucer-shaped area (diam. c. 33yd), enclosed by inner bank (H c. 14ft from base of fosse), intervening fosse (Wth c. 15ft) and outer bank (H c. 6 ft); one-eighth of each rampart levelled. Second bivallate ringfort (CO031-017---) c. 80m to S.
