The National Monuments Service's description

In possible ringfort (13065). No visible surface trace of burials or burial markers in interior. The OS Field Book of 1838 records 'an old Danish fort, in which persons were formerly buried but not since about 1778 except unbaptised children' (Grove White, 1905-25, vol. 2, 224).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
