The National Monuments Service's description

Not shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map; shown on 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps as rectangular field planted with trees. On S side of road. Rectangular area (c. 70m N-S; 18m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.4m). Interior densely overgrown; memorial cross inside roadside bank, to famine victims buried there (1847-1848). According to Bowman (1934, 338), site of burial ground and church (14481) of penal times, used as auxiliary burial ground to Kanturk workhouse.
