The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on ridge of high ground, with land sloping down to S to marshy glen. Circular area (internal diam. 27.4m E-W; 27m N-S) enclosed by inner earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.45m); intervening fosse; outer earthen bank ( ext. H 1m) SE->W. Break in inner bank to NW (Wth 2.2m) and N (Wth 2.5m). Causewayed entrance ( Wth 2.6m) to ESE. Banks heavily overgrown with bushes. Interior raised above level of surrounding field. Bowman (1934, 519) recorded 'a low fence, c. 2 ft. high. enclosing c. 25 sq. yards' in 'SW of interior'; within 'this enclosure is a hole 8ft. by 4 by 1ft 6in deep'. Outer bank is shown on sketch by Bowman (ibid.) as wide (c. 7yd), flat topped apart from narrow rise along outer face.
