The National Monuments Service's description

According to Ó Drisceoil (1934, 24), 'St Finnian's holy well (14028) 'is also known by the name Fulacht Fian Well; the name giving mound has been completely removed, it was in the north-west corner of a field 150 yards [137m] north-east from the well'. The precise location of this possible fulacht fia is not known.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
