The National Monuments Service's description
Windele (1898, 52-3) recorded 'an ancient cave above which were several graves' in the churchyard of Kilcrumper (CO027-11401-). 'It was one of the old primaeval crypts, arched in the overlaid manner, and apparently of considerable extent, the covering stones short' (ibid.). Exact location within churchyard not known.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
