The National Monuments Service's description
Pattern of rectilinear cropmarks, some perpendicular to each other, visible in aerial photographs (CASAP, July 1989). Cropmarks cover area of c. 20ha and indicate relict field system on different axis from present system. Circular enclosures (CO026-185---; CO026-186---) and ring-ditch (CO018-116---) are within field system and joined by its field boundaries. Two closely spaced parallel cropmarks extending NNW-SSE along E limit of field system may indicate routeway.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
