The National Monuments Service's description
This enclosure was referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 4 North Cork' (2000, 477) under the entry (no. 14076) for a burial ground (CO024-180----). It is described in the entry as follows: 'Bowman (1934, 61) recorded church and burial ground in J. McCabe's land; he described it as 'circular and consequently very ancient. The diameter is c. 55 yards. No sign of the church now remains'. Exact location not known.'
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
