This bawn is referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 4 North Cork' (2000, 522-3) under the entry (no. 14337) for a tower house (CO024-135001-). The bawn is referred to as follows in the entry: Five-storey rectangular tower (7.9m E-W; 9.2m N-S) at SE corner of square bawn (30m E-W; 30.15m N-S).
