The National Monuments Service's description

On S bank of Glenlara River. Built against natural slope of flood plain. Random-rubble wall retains earthen core. Front elevation (H c. 3.5m; Wth 4.5m) faces N; arched recess (H 1.6m; Wth 2.35m; D 1.7m), sloping slabs at rear with stoking hole and ope at base. Overgrown funnel to rear.
