The National Monuments Service's description

Power (1932, 81) described early church site, 'marked by some circular fence foundations and slight mounds, near the junction of two roadways, in a field known as Lios-mhic-Cháin, on the farm of Conor O'Brien'. He identifies townland with 'Da Cenn Echain' or Da Cellechain of Crichad an Chaoilli (ibid.). Exact location not known.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
