The National Monuments Service's description

Power (1932, 64) refers to a 'cill...within Edward Fitzgerald's lawn (Newgrove) and some perches to the NW of the residence. The spot is called Cran na Cille, from an ancient tree which overshadows it'. According to Windele, site was called 'Killeenagoul' (ibid.). Exact location not known.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
