The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, c. 160 m E of stream. Grass-covered circular spread of burnt material (diam. c. 18m). According to local information, in 1950s surrounding land drained and 'oak beams' found; mound recently levelled. Also according to local information, two other spreads of burnt material noted in same field, one to W and the other to SW, though these could not be precisely located.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
