The National Monuments Service's description

In quarry. Random-rubble limestone walls encase core (c. 6m E-W; c. 7.5m N-S). Ivy-clad front elevation (H 5.5m) faces E; corbelled recess (H 2.85m; Wth 2.2m; D 2.7m) topped with lintel, stepped lower inner lintels with stoking hole, sloping slabs to rear, ope at base. Ledge above recess on front elevation. Partially infilled stone-lined funnel (diam. 2m).
